NFL Denies Reports That Lady Gaga Can’t Talk Politics At Super Bowl Show.
The original claim was made by an unnamed source to Entertainment Tonight.
A spokesperson for the NFL has denied claims that Lady Gaga is not allowed to talk politics at the Super Bowl halftime show in an email to The Huffington Post.
A rep told TMZ that any claims are just a distraction.
“This is unsourced nonsense from people trying to stir up controversy where there is none,” the rep told TMZ. “The Super Bowl is a time when people really come together. Lady Gaga is focused on putting together an amazing show for fans and we love working with her on it; we aren’t going to be distracted by this.”

Politics may have no place at the Super Bowl halftime show.
A new report from Entertainment Tonight quoting an unnamed source claims Lady Gaga has been told to stay silent when it comes to political discourse during the upcoming Halftime Show.
“Lady Gaga was told by the NFL that she cannot say anything or bring anything up about the election, or mention Donald Trump,” a source close to the show told ET.
The “Joanne” singer has been a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton and opponent of Trump.
In September, it was confirmed that Gaga will headline the 2017 halftime show, considered to be “the most-watched musical event of the year,” according to an NFL statement. More than 116.5 million viewers in the U.S. tuned in last year. Gaga’s 2016 performance of the national anthem helped land her the gig.
The singer has apparently been practicing in her backyard.
